Canadian Forces Snipers Rifles
MRSW – the C3A1
The 7.62mm (or .308") C3A1 is the Medium Range Sniper Weapon. A Parker Hale rifle, the C3A1 dates back to
the 1980s will be replaced by the new 8.6mm C14 Timberwolf.

England ( Parker-Hale commercial Model 82 ).
MRSWS – the C14
The Medium-Range Snipers Weapon System ( MRSWS ) is a bolt-action Timberwolf chambered for
the dedicated sniper round, 8.6mm Lapua.
CF designation: Rifle, Sniper, 7.62mm, C14,
Calibre: 8.6mm x 70mm (or .338" Lapua), Origins: Prairie Gun Works DTI, Winnipeg
(partnered with Colt Canada of Kitchener).
LRSW - C15 Big Mac
Interim LRSW ( Long Range Sniper Weapon ) in 12.7mm, the McMillan C15 Big Mac is an
anti-material rifle used also for anti-personnel now.
CF designation: Rifle, Sniper, 12.7mm,
C15, Calibre: 12.7 x 99mm NATO (.50" BMG), Origins: McMillan Bros Rifle Company, Phoenix, AZ,
USA, (Tactical Rifle or Tac-50 ).
Canadian Forces Marksmen Rifle Systems
MRS - C7CT/AR-10T
The Marksman Rifle System. Two sniper rifles bought as IORs ( Immediate Operation- al Requirements ),
Diemaco 5.56mm C7CT and Armalite 7.62mm AR-10T automatics.
CF designation: No known
'C' designations (C7CT and AR-10T are marketing names).
